WHERE DO FREUD AND LACAN THEMSELVES FIT ON THE GRAPH OF SEXUATION?

The amusing thing about Lacan’s “graph of sexuation” is that Freud and Lacan must be placed on the infamous left side of the graph, that of transcendence. The whole of Deleuze and Guattari’s ANTI-OEDIPUS is devoted to arguing this Freudo-Lacanian betrayal of immanence with transcendent overcodings.

The same is true for Levi Bryant, for example in his talk, “Posthumanism and Lacan’s Graph of Sexuation”. I refuse to append the misleading first part, “Two Ontologies”, to this title as despite squinting and using my 3D spectacles left over from THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN, I can see only one ontology in Bryant’s work: ontotheology in its naive version on the left and in its nostalgic version on the right, as withdrawal is a form of transcendence).
