RIP NewAPPS: theatre of cruelty and chatting with the cronies

With the departure of Eric Schliesser and now of Jon Cogburn, NewAPPS has become one of the most boring so-called “philosophical” blogs imaginable, where the cronyism index is intolerably high, with the consequent autism, sterilty, and self-righteous pretentiousness that we may expect from such decomposition. Catarina Dutilh Novaes has recently tried to raise the level, at least in terms of content, and I would normally have commented on her most recent piece. But her habit of “chatting with the cronies” in the comments section and her cynical “help me out with my article” addressed to her “peers” seals her élitist practice of “dialogue” with the mark of this cronyist blog. The cruelty and utter inanity with which they reacted to Cogburn’s critique of the abuses of politically correct language, and nothing else, is a disgrace to the very name of philosophy. I am appalled.
