AGAINST JUNGIAN ESSENTIALISM: Jordan Peterson’s primacy of archetypes over myths

In this video John David Ebert deconstructs Jordan Peterson’s mythological essentialism as found in his treatment of Jungian archetypes as a-historical stereotypes.

This internal critique is far more effective than an external critique of Peterson’s political essentialism, especially since Peterson himself criticises the infantile disorder of the left as based on essentialism.

it’s a huge hole in Analytical psychology across the board once you take away Jung’s mistaken theory of genetic inheritance how does one (post-structuralism) account for these supposed shared archetypes? much better to take Hillman’s sense of archetypal as an adjective (phenomenological aspect/quality) along the line of what grasps/possesses us (minus Hillman Romantic take on myths) and fuse that with Jung’s earlier work on feeling-toned complexes.
