In this chapter I continue with the first section of Badiou’s introduction. Subjects discussed: philosophical beginnings, de-absolutising multiplicities, the necessity of re-absolutisation, de-mathematising Badiou’s concepts, the three hypostases of the ideology of finitude (obedience and objectivity, restriction of possibles, authority of the finite). Meillassoux, Lyotard, the infinite by weak « stretching » of the finite, the finite is always only a result.
