BADIOU’S DIAGRAMS OF COVERING OVER

The definable sets in the conservative world (on the left) are already tied to language, wholly known to everyone. They are used to cover over anything undefined, anything new that could arise (on the right) in transgression and displacement of the barrier of order (vertical line), as a risk of infinity (picture 2). The operation of covering over will attempt to show that this new thing is not at all exterior to the world, as it claims, it is not an infinite novelty, and will stick onto it a covering composed of definable parts (picture 3) and pretend that it is something already known and named.
